Frank Sinatra's long-playing record "Some Nice Things I've Missed" was released in 1974. Perhaps the title of the record had a very special meaning for the singer, because shortly beforehand Franky Boy had bought a second-hand 1970 Maserati Ghibli. With the license plate "FAS IV", he probably drove it on the American highways. Incidentally, one song on the 74 LP was called "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Live".
A few years later, he sold the 4.7-liter coupé on to the actor George Hamilton, who has been seen in many Hollywood films, including as Zorro.
Hamilton later passed the car on to Dave Thomas, the founder of Wendy's.
It will now go under the hammer at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas from June 17 to 19, 2021 . Special features include the tail lights ("I did it my way"). Incidentally, the car with ZF 5-speed gearbox will be auctioned without a reserve price. It will be interesting to see whether the famous previous owners will influence the bids.
