This is also a great way to raise the next generation of classic cars ...

It is actually surprising how much sympathy the new Alpine A110 enjoys. No matter how many people may be tired of cars and only want horse-drawn carriages or bicycles on the roads, when an Alpine convoy drives past, thumbs go up, people pull out their cell phones and take photos (or videos) for all they're worth.
However, over three dozen Alpine cars, most of them blue of course, in a convoy also attract attention. The occasion was the Rencontre Franco-Suisse in Divonne-Les-Bains on September 1, 2019. The Swiss delegation traveled from the Alpine Centre Lausanne in a crowd and delighted passers-by on the roadside.
There was also plenty on offer for young and old Alpine fans in Divonne, with around 200 Alpine fans, new and old, in a huge parking lot by the lake.
Families with children made a pilgrimage through the long rows of sports cars and many a father probably told his offspring about the glorious exploits of the rally drivers in the "Berlinettes".
In any case, a great deal is done for automobile history at such meetings and it is probably at such events that the curiosity for classic cars is awakened in some of the children.
And Renault can claim to have built a particularly successful bridge to the past with the Alpine A110. Some buyers of a new A110 will sooner or later take an interest in the brand's past and perhaps even become classic car enthusiasts or buyers.
A report on the "Rencontre Franco-Suisse Alpine" will follow.
