There are always coincidences - pairings today and back then
Just as the Formula V entered Swiss soil for the very first time in 1965 in Lignières, the package then stood many years later and freshly restored at the Stuttgart trade fair in 2013.
In the historic picture, you can clearly see the tense face of Rico Steinemann, editor-in-chief and founder of the motorsport magazine "powerslide", in the "Formcar", true to the motto: If only this goes well!
In 1965, Steinemann wrote the following about the original type of Formula Vee, the "Formcar" from the USA: "It looks a bit bulky, doesn't exactly sit perfectly, but is undoubtedly the most robust and undemanding of all Formula Vee cars.
At the time, he also described the tiresome problem of transporting racing cars: "The Formula Vee doesn't get to the racetrack by itself. Today, however, every touring car and GT driver will soon have this worry, and the solution is a lightweight transport trailer. Suggestion for small budgets: Use a used mid-range car with a trailer coupling as your everyday car. Add a lightweight racing trailer (single-axle) that only needs to be good for 400 Formula Vee kilograms."
Of course, the Bulli was also a possible solution, as you can see in the pictures.
