When seat belts were still being advertised

It's hard to imagine today that you could read an advertisement for seat belts in a magazine, and from an accessory manufacturer at that.
But 50 years ago, seat belts were only just emerging and were still a long way from being standard equipment. Some manufacturers didn't even offer them. Naturally, accessory suppliers such as Varta stepped into the breach and marketed retrofit safety belts. So that passengers could read the newspaper or sleep in peace ...
