A special car for Jacques Meyerie
Mr. Jacques Meyerie from Lyon had a very special sports car designed by Giovanni Michelotti and built by Conrero in 1962. The car is known as the "Michelotti-Boudot-Conrero" and was technically based on the Renault Dauphine platform.
The engine was extensively rebuilt by Conrero, received a new cylinder head with overhead camshafts (bi'albero) and, with 998 cm3, produced an impressive 95 hp at 7,400 rpm. The torque reached 98 Nm at 5,500 rpm.
The body was made of sheet aluminum and showed similarities with Alpine models, but also with the ASA 1000. The rear was very geometric and angular in design and thus completely unique. The hood at the rear opened to the rear. Even swing-out windows behind the doors had been considered.
The unladen weight of the sports car is said to have been 600 kg, which, with almost 100 hp, must have ensured more than impressive driving performance. We know nothing about the whereabouts of this one-off.
