The charm of the sixties

When I watched an old episode of the TV series "The Avengers" last night, more or less by chance, under the title "Mit Schirm, Charme und Melone", I immediately enjoyed the beautiful and stylish cars again. Steed drives a pre-war Bentley, Emma Peel a gorgeous Lotus Elan Series 3 (pictured above). What also caught my eye, however, was a mismatched wing mirror on Steed's Bentley (not visible in the photo).
But of course, anyone who drove their Bentley in everyday traffic in the sixties probably didn't want to do without the advantages of a practical rear-view mirror, and of course nobody thought about originality and FIVA charters back then.
And what made me happy was that back then the sounds of the cars were left as they were actually recorded. The exhaust symphonies of the Bentley and the Lotus were wonderful.
