If you've wanted a Corvette since you were a child, then you've waited long enough
In April 1973, exactly 40 years ago, a full-page advertisement for the then current Chevrolet Corvette C3 appeared in Road & Track. The text began with: "Do you remember the first time you saw a Corvette? How it looked, how it made you feel?"
And it continued in this style until the final sentence made everything clear: "After all, if the kid who always wanted a Vette doesn't deserve one, who does?"
Of course, the advertising also cites all the improvements of the 1973 model year in order to convince buyers. New tires are mentioned, new engines, better noise insulation, stronger bumpers, etc.
"Building a better way to see the U.S.A.", Chevrolet wrote on its (own) banner at the time, and obviously the advertising didn't work badly back then, because 10% more Corvettes were sold in 1973 than in the previous year.
