Seat aids for F1 drivers in classic cars
09/25/2012
At the obligatory Formula 1 drivers' parades, there are always (vintage) vehicles that are more or less suitable for presenting a GP driver. This was also the case in Singapore last weekend.
Fernando Alonso had no problem with the Alfa Romeo Duetto. Everyone can see him, thanks to the low waistline and flat top of the round-tail Spider.
Sebastian Vettel in the closed Bentley, on the other hand, would not have been recognizable at all. Without further ado, he decided to sit on the roof.
Michael Schumacher was a different story. In the venerable Mercedes-Benz convertible, he could have taken a seat on the folded-back top, but the seven-time world champion preferred a pile of cushions. However, this tower was only of limited use in presenting the prominent F1 driver to his fans (see picture above for the result).
