The elegance of the Delahaye sales documents
09/17/2012
In the 1930s to 1950s, vehicles from the French brand Delahaye were regarded as the epitome of elegance coupled with performance and reliability. But the car manufacturer not only produced beautiful cars, the sales brochures in which the vehicles were advertised also bear witness to style and aesthetics.
The painted illustrations show the vehicles in harmonious surroundings and on brown backgrounds.
Speed is tastefully symbolized with deliberate brushstrokes.
And even in later years, none of this elegance was lost. Even when the cars were no longer painted but photographed, the appropriate surroundings were created.
