Practicing on the Stoderzinken
07/12/2012
The 20th Ennstal-Classic starts today at 9 a.m. sharp!
Yesterday was free practice, which many used as an opportunity to practise and practise and practise on the Stoderzinken.
Thomas Voglar in the Alfa Romeo Giulia ti from 1964 tried to hit the finish line to the hundredth of a second (picture above).
With the Ferrari 250 SWB Competitione from 1960, ...
... the VW Beetle 1300 from 1966, ...
... the G-MG Aerodynamica from 1950, ...
... and the Alfa Romeo 6C from 1934 ...
... we can get an idea of the route of the Stoderzinken mountain stage.
Yesterday was dry and hot, but today it will be wet and cool. The 50 km/h average won't leave the participants cold, especially in the wet. It will be difficult to complete the 8.5 km long and extremely winding mountain section to the nearest hundredth of a second.
The 403 km long Orange Prologue starts at midday. Climbs such as the Sölkpass, the Turracher Höhe, the Nockalm, the Katschberg and the Radstädter Tauern are on the list. Once again, the weather leaves everything open.
The first thunderstorm already showered some of the trainers, e.g. the Ferrari 365 GTC 4, in the late afternoon.
