Ferrari 250 GTO class reunion at Le Mans
07/07/2012
38 Ferrari 250 GTOs were built between 1962 and 1964, most of which still exist.
But for 23 of them to come together in one place is almost a sensation. But the GTO Owners Club, together with sponsor LVHM, organized a class reunion on the occasion of the Le Mans Classic 2012. Yesterday, Friday, the GTO collection, worth a total of well over 250 million euros, was allowed to do two laps of the Le Mans circuit.
Of course, it was a pity that it was not possible to keep the cars together for two laps, so that most of the spectators did not get to enjoy the overall performance. Also, there were probably not quite 23 who actually completed the two laps.
The class reunion, which once again clearly showed that not all GTOs are red and that some of the body shapes differed significantly, was nevertheless unique and a feast for the eyes and ears as well as a successful start to the Le Mans Classic.
As usual, our extensive photo report will follow soon.
