Better to drive more than use fuel stabilizers (question of the month)
Modern petrol often contains ethanol, which can lead to poor combustion and deposits in the fuel system after a long period of inactivity. For this reason, petrol stabilizers are offered to prevent this. But are they actually used?
We wanted to find out from Zwischengas readers with a " question of the month ": Do you admit to using a fuel stabilizer?
Just over half (50.3%) of the more than 300 respondents said no, they do not admit to using a fuel stabilizer.
However, almost the other half (46.9%) do so at least occasionally. 15.8 % do it every time they fill up, 14.6 % do it every now and then, but not every time they fill up and a further 16.5 % add fuel stabilizer before winterizing.
2.8% did not find an answer that suited them; they may add fuel stabilizer to vehicles that are to be stored for longer than just the winter.
