No, we don’t intend to publish any new insights here. After all, it was already clear 50 or more years ago how to photograph cars. In 1973, the magazine “auto motor und sport” (Issue 13/1973 ) published a “Journal” on the topic of “Photography.” And a fairly lengthy article documented how to photograph cars.
It offered a behind-the-scenes look at one of the undisputed masters of automotive photography, Julius Weitmann. Fascinating!
In any case, it’s still worth reading this now 53-year-old article on car photography today, if only for the interesting sample photos. But also because of the advertising features surrounding this article.
