What the hell is that all about?

You can never know everything, but I'm really out of my depth here. I drove past these "Olympic rings" six times and still didn't know what they were really supposed to be.
There are definitely too many rings for an Audi advertisement. Perhaps the ideal line, no, that would simply be too slow, but it could be a sign from God that this accumulation of "halos" is supposed to save the heads of motorcyclists lying in the bends, as they are known to often cross the central reservation.
Or is it an advertisement, but for the delicious Willisauer-Ringli? But the Brünig Pass is a long way from Willisau, so this makes no sense either. Maybe for articulated lorries, so that the middle section of the trailer doesn't cross into the oncoming lane. God knows which highly educated scientist came up with another glorious idea ...
Yes, at the famous "Le Mans start", the drivers stood in such circles opposite their cars. The ban on circuit racing in Switzerland has since been lifted, thank God, but it's illogical that these circles should be the first thing to be painted on the asphalt.
But maybe like this: maybe these are landing points for parachutists, the smaller, the more points there are ..., but maybe the safety stripe painter had a really high blood alcohol level, or maybe it really is just art! I just don't know.
