Congratulations Dr. Wolfgang Porsche!
Wolfgang Porsche was born on May 10, 1943, the youngest son of Dorothea and Ferry Porsche. He spent his youth in Zell am See on the estate of his grandfather Ferdinand. In 1950, the family returned with the company to Stuttgart, where Wolfgang graduated from high school in 1965 and at the same time completed his apprenticeship as a locksmith. However, he then returned to Austria and studied at the University of World Trade in Vienna, graduating with a degree in business administration. He obtained his doctorate in commerce in 1973.
Dr. Wolfgang Porsche becomes self-employed and becomes managing partner of the company JAMOTO, with which he becomes the Austrian general importer for Japanese Yamaha motorcycles.
In 1976, he returned to Stuttgart to work for Daimler Benz and in 1978 he was appointed to the Supervisory Board of Porsche, where he became Chairman in 2007.
After the death of his father in 1998, the Porsche family elected him company spokesman. When Porsche Automobil Holding SE was founded in June 2007, he was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and since April 24, 2008, he has also been a member of the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen AG.
The father of four children has always remained loyal to Zell am See, where he now runs an organic farm, but has also settled down in Salzburg.
As early as 1956, he followed his father's racing cars at Le Mans and, deep in his heart, he has remained loyal to motorsport to this day. As the history of Porsche is important to him, he is always involved in events, sometimes even personally. Be it the Ennstal-Classic or the ice spectacle in Zell am See, Dr. Wolfgang Porsche is still waving the flags at the age of 80.
