Because they don't know what they're doing!

On February 6, 2021, the memorabilia of the "Ristorante Cavallino" in Maranello will go under the hammer. Giuseppe Neri was the patron of the restaurant for many years and a good friend of Enzo Ferrari. The restaurant was only 50 meters across the street from the Ferrari factory.
Naturally, countless small and large Ferrari memorabilia accumulated over the years. 168 of them are now being auctionedoff by the Parisian auction house Artcurial . They include everything from letters from the Commendator and the V12 engine of Gerhard Berger and Jean Alesi to the helmets of Schumacher and Alonso.
The "Cavallino" was considered Enzo's canteen. He regularly enjoyed lunch here at his reserved table, tortelli in butter and sage, or a cheese risotto.
After Giuseppi Neri's death, his daughters Cristina, Clementine and Chiara continued to run the business from 2015 until the end of 2020, but have now handed it over to Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura. The building is now being renovated and will certainly never be the same again. The food may get even better, but the atmosphere will suffer badly without all the museum pieces. Unfortunately, Ferrari itself has hardly ever paid any attention to its own history, and now countless other mementos from the history of Maranello are disappearing.
We were often treated to a meal in the Cavallino after vehicle presentations. The "cavallino rampante" (rearing little horse) was on every place setting. The waiters regularly had to clear away less than they had set ...
It's a shame that it had to come to this. A highly interesting place of worship could have been built here, which would have been a guaranteed winner as a museum restaurant.
