BMW Z3 as a side tip (question of the week)
We like to think back to the days when you could buy a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, a Porsche 356 or a Fiat Dino Spider as a used car for a reasonable price. And to this day, you would have multiplied your investment many times over. But perhaps there are still such bargains today, whose value will rise massively in 10 or 20 years and which you will no longer be able to afford by then.
We wanted to know what Zwischengas readers thought about this topic and, in the " Question of the Week" , gave them a choice of nine cars built between 1989 and 2010 from which to select the most suitable classic car of the future.
Almost 570 survey participants told us their preference and only 15.3% did not find any of the proposed cars to be a candidate for the future.
The "race" was relatively close and was ultimately won by the BMW Z3 Roadster 2.8/3.0 (17% of the votes).
In second place was the Alfa Romeo Brera with 14.1%.
Third place was shared by two barely comparable young classics, namely the Porsche Boxster (Type 986) and the Renault Avantime, each with 10.7% of the readers' votes.
The Mazda MX-5 (NA/NB) came in second with 9.3%, the Mercedes-Benz SLK with 6.9% and the Peugeot RCZ with 5.4%. The Audi TT and the Fiat Coupé received the fewest votes with 5.3%. However, these two special cars did not go unnoticed.
The evaluation probably also shows that Zwischengas readers are very broadly interested and that even cars that receive little attention, such as the Renault Avantime, have significant classic car potential.
