And again and again the Ferrari F40
11/04/2020
The Ferrari F40 is one of the favorites of wealthy classic car collectors. In the meantime, it has actually matured into a classic car, but even as a youngtimer, it was already worth considerably less than its original price at the time. Good examples are currently being offered for just under or over a million euros.
We have analyzed our auction databasefor some of our popular classics and shown the value trend indexed back to 2016. Here, too, the Ferrari F40 makes a good case, as it is the most stable classic in this comparison. It maintains its value relatively consistently over the five years examined.
Other classics, such as the older brother Ferrari 330 GTC, fare less well.
What is actually astonishing about the whole story is that the F40 was produced in comparatively large numbers. But what it loses in rarity, it makes up for in driving. Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of driving an F40 can probably confirm this.
There will be more analysis and a comprehensive review of the auction year in the upcoming Zwischengas annual magazine 2021 , which will be published in mid-December 2020.
