Car graveyards are an increasingly rare species, yet they are extremely fascinating. It's not just the old sheet metal that is exciting, the smell of the decaying interiors is also special. But the most exciting thing is how nature has blended with the vehicles over the years.
In Harry Potter's Ford Anglia, the mode of transportation was not limited to the road, it could also take to the air and fly - even above the clouds and completely invisible. But after its abrupt landing in the car graveyard, it came to a visible halt. The photo was taken in 1982 on the outskirts of Vienna, where I was doing a photo reportage on the subject of decay.
