The road dust cleaner

Everyone now knows Nilfisk, the manufacturer of world-famous vacuum cleaners and other cleaning machines, but what is Nimbus? Nimbus, founded in 1906, was a Danish motorcycle brand owned by Fisker&Nielsen A/S, which only changed its name to "Nilfisk" after the Second World War.
Company founder Peder Andersen Fisker designed a motorcycle after the First World War to counteract the slump in sales at the time. In 1919, the Type A, the so-called "stovepipe", was launched on the market. The motorcycle was given this nickname thanks to the diameter of its upper frame tube, which also housed the fuel tank. The magneto ignition four-cylinder engine, mounted longitudinally in the frame, delivers around 10 hp with its 746 cc. The power of the three-speed engine is transmitted to the rear wheel via a cardan shaft. 499 Type A motorcycles were produced until the model change to the Type B in 1923. Production of the second model continued until 1928 and a further 753 two-wheelers were built.
After a break of around 5 years, father and son Fisker presented the prototype of the Type C to the world public in 1933. From 1934, this motorcycle was delivered with its new nickname "Hummel", due to its bumblebee-like sound.
Production of Nimbus motorcycles from Denmark ended in 1959 with the Type C (1933-1959), which was both the brand's oldest and youngest motorcycle.
