The mix of eras makes the difference (question of the week)
11/11/2019
The automobile was invented well over a hundred years ago, and the mix of years and generations at events where classic car and youngtimer enthusiasts meet is correspondingly large.
So it can happen that a 1988 Fiat Croma stands next to a 1916 Ford Model T at an open-brand classic car meeting, a 1952 Pretzel Beetle next to a 1998 VW Lupo. But not everyone likes this mix and would prefer to see more uniform meetings and more organized groups.
In a " question of the week" , we wanted to know from Zwischengas readers whether this diversity is perceived as enriching, or whether readers would prefer to see the years or at least the decades presented in groups?
Over 300 readers took part in this survey and the verdict is clear: a particular order is not necessary. 47.9% said that all participants should be allowed to attend meetings as long as they are over 30 years old.
25.1% said they didn't care about the order, they would only look at the vehicles they personally liked anyway.
16% thought that the vehicles should be separated by decade.
5.2% thought that organizers should limit themselves to a specific time period.
2.6 % percent thought that the vehicles should be separated by brand.
And 3.3 percent did not find an answer to their liking.
Here are the results in graphic form.
And of course we have already asked the next "Question of the Week" , this time we are referring to the new trend of mixing new cars and classic cars at motor shows and want to know what our readers think of this.
