Corona is no obstacle: 88% of classic and vintage car owners want to attend outdoor events (question of the week)
Scientists and aerosol experts consider the risk of Covid infection in the fresh air to be comparatively low. Not only are aerosols said to blow away quickly even in light winds, but viruses are also said to die within 1 to 2 minutes when exposed to UV radiation. This means that the risk of infection at many open-air events should be relatively low and participation - with sufficient distance between people - may even be relatively safe without a mask. The increasing level of vaccination also contributes to this.
As part of a " question of the week" , we wanted to know from Zwischengas readers whether they could imagine taking part in well-known classic and vintage car events "outside" again as usual?
In fact, 88.1 percent could very well imagine doing so. A quarter of them would participate immediately and unconditionally, while three quarters would at least want to comply with the current rules and laws.
Only 3.6% said that it would still be too risky for them at the moment, while a further 8.3% would like to wait until at least a large majority have been vaccinated, which is expected to be in the course of the summer or shortly afterwards.
After almost a year and a half of restrictions, classic and vintage car drivers want to meet up again and do something together. The willingness is great and organizers can probably hope for a great response to calls in the second half of 2021.
