The radiator grille and why it is so important (car connoisseur quiz)
Some cars are recognizable from afar, even if you can only see a small part of the radiator grille. Even in the pre-war period, the radiator gave the otherwise largely similarly shaped cars their individual face. After the war, even more emphasis was placed on the design of the radiator grille, and the front became one of the most important distinguishing features. And even cars that did not actually need the grille (because of the rear engine) were sometimes given a radiator grille.
Together with the headlights and trim parts, the result was an individual face, so it is no wonder that the radiator grille was used early on for brand identification and differentiation.
But can we also recognize cars if we only see the radiator grille or parts of it, but other features are missing? We put it to the test with our new car connoisseur quiz and show ten photos that our readers have to recognize. Would you like to try?
