It's more or less the worst case scenario. You're driving your old car, it's dark and it's raining. Now a whole series of factors come together that no longer necessarily make driving a pure pleasure.
The windshield wiper technology of the sixties cannot be compared with what the complex wipers do today. The light shines just a few meters in front of the hood. The windshield is also no longer the latest and sometimes looks like a prism. The "competition" drives with xenon or LED light, which is many times brighter than that of a classic car. Of course, the rear-view mirror cannot be dimmed and throws the cone of light directly into the driver's face. And to top it all off, the windows start to steam up eagerly, as there is of course no air conditioning on board to dry the incoming air.
It is no wonder that many classic car drivers, especially if they are older and naturally have poorer night vision, try to avoid driving at night, especially in rainy conditions. It is precisely at these times that the progress that the car has made over the last 50 years becomes particularly noticeable ...
