Going on a skiing vacation with the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (W198)?
Today, that sounds pretty weird. Who would want to go on a skiing vacation in a (presumably painstakingly restored) Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster (W198), expose their car to salt, ice and snow and then have the problem of where to mount the skis?
Well, at least they already had a solution for placing the skis, which surprisingly could be seen on two cars at the Rétromobile .
Both Artcurial and Bonhamswere auctioning off a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL including a ski rack (and historic skis).
However, the interesting equipment detail did not seem to interest the bidders enough and neither car found a new owner.
