Summary
The name apparently associated the Buick Reatta with nautics and in fact the manufacturer was shipwrecked, as the hoped-for production figures could not be realized in any way. But the two-seater, which was available as a coupé and convertible, was actually a well-designed car that fitted in well with the times. This vehicle report tells the story of the Buick Reatta and the Wildcat concept car, which influenced its style, and shows the car in many pictures.

Whether they were called Regal or Century, they were mostly well-behaved sedans or reasonably family-friendly coupés with eight-cylinder engines and conservative looks. However, the engineers and designers at GM/Buick were certainly capable of doing things differently, as they had already proven in the 1950s with the Wildcat studies.
