Miura-Mania
02/07/2019
It's Rétromobile time again. This week, Paris attracts classic car enthusiasts from all over the world like a magnet. Not only is the Rétromobile one of the oldest trade fairs, it is also certainly the most prestigious. This reputation is hard-earned and will be confirmed once again in 2019 with special exhibitions and superlative dealer presentations. We will write about the special 100-year Citroën show and the Lancia presentation by Lukas Hüni later, but today we will turn our attention to the stand of Simon Kidston, who is known to be a big fan of the Italian sports car brand Lamborghini.
Under the title "our italian job" (in reference to the 1969 film, in the opening sequence of which a Miura is involved), there are no fewer than six Lamborghini Miura cars on the Kidston stand, including unique and rare examples such as the blue Spider, which was first shown at the 1968 Brussels Motor Show.
There is also the SVJ, the super-fast and uncompromising variant.
And in the middle of the stand is the Miura of the Shah of Persia, which he once drove in the snow of St. Moritz (albeit without ski racks) (picture at the top).
The Kidston show is completed by a Miura chassis as it was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966.
This stand alone is almost worth a trip to Paris, because when do you ever see such a compilation?
