Forget the world while tying your shoes
This unsurpassable definition of a racing driver's maximum concentration comes from Herrmann Harster, the author of Graf Trips' biography "The race is never over". He formulated it on the occasion of the commemorative event on the 25th anniversary of Count Trips' death, at which a symposium was held on this very topic of "maximum concentration" among top athletes.
Jackie Stewart, born in 1939, belongs to this generation of sportspeople and demonstrated concentrated shoe lacing - black street shoes! - in its pure form at this year's Festival of Speed.
The French photographer Antoine Dellenbach recognized the concentration in Jackie Stewart's face with his gaze on the shoe and thus immortalized Harster's sentence "Forget the world while tying your shoes" in a wonderful photo. Dellenbach has thus succeeded in taking a good photo along the lines defined by Henri Cartier-Bresson (co-founder of the Magnum photo agency). "Recognize the right moment ... have the camera ready to shoot."
