Great climate, but not for free!

When the temperatures outside get warmer and warmer, some people wish they had air conditioning in their classic or modern car. However, these practical features only became widespread in the new century, whereas in the sixties they were still mainly reserved for expensive luxury and sports cars. In the 1980s, it was also possible to equip mid-range cars with air conditioning, usually for an extra charge, and drive around in comfort.
However, air conditioning systems in old cars also have disadvantages because they are usually used too rarely and become leaky and more expensive to maintain with age. Some people then simply disconnect the entire system. However, this can have serious consequences, as some vehicles also need the cooling effect for the temperature balance in the fuel lines, for example.
Restarting the system after a long period of disuse can also be costly and can add up to several thousand EUR/CHF if a complete overhaul is necessary.
Seen in this light, buying a classic or modern classic car without this pleasant feature can actually be considerably cheaper and, as we all know, a little sweating never hurt anyone ...
