Digital radio reception desired in classic/young cars (question of the week)
05/15/2017
There has been talk for years that the ultra-short wave reception still in use today (FM) will soon be abolished. By then at the latest, newer car radios in classic cars will probably also fall silent, long wave and medium wave have long since ceased to be an alternative, DAB+ is the technology of the hour. Is digital radio reception in old cars really a necessity? With a question of the weekon this topic, we wanted to know what classic/young car drivers think about it and how they plan to deal with the new technology.
More than half, or 55% to be precise, of the over 400 respondents plan to make DAB+ audible in their old car. Of these, 47% intend to use a hidden DAB+ add-on receiver and 8% intend to replace their current radio with a DAB+-capable device.
39%, on the other hand, will do nothing, as radio reception is not a priority for them in their classic/young car. If necessary, the receiver will remain muted.
A clear vote in favor of retrofitting, even if the originality suffers as a result (new device).
