A damn long time ago - the golden years of the DTM

This weekend, the DTM kicks off its 18th season at the Hockenheimring, at least as far as the more recent era (from the year 2000) is concerned.
For many fans, however, the memories of the original DTM, which took place from 1984 to 1996, are still vivid. They are easy to understand, as it is hard to imagine what was on offer on the race track back then. And the fact that there were also races on the Nordschleife, with flying M3s and 190s, is just as hard to imagine.
But there are the videos on youtube, one of which we would like to highlight, not least because of the matching soundtrack by BAP.
The six-minute video impressively shows how racing used to be a matter of man, machine and track, while electronics and collision-hostile aerodynamics were hardly an issue back then.
