Waiting for the big rush
03/25/2017
Exactly, we are in Fribourg, on the language border between German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland. And we have set up our stand at the classic car and parts market. The main attraction is a Saab 96 V4, which we recently portrayed in the snow for SwissClassics Revue magazine.
But after just a few minutes and even before the official visiting times, it is clear that someone is stealing the show from the Saab.
Yes, that's right, it's the Michelin Man. Although, male is a bit of an understatement, as the figure is around two meters high. And used to serve as a pumping station for tires. Now Monsieur Michelin smiles for us and clearly attracts attention!
The other exhibitors have also set up their stands and have taken the precaution of covering them overnight to protect them from prying eyes. At least we were able to spot a nice row of oil cans, which made us feel nostalgic.
Now, of course, we're hoping for a big crowd in Fribourg on Saturday and Sunday. We are certainly prepared. And the two special shows on 70 years of Ferrari and Griffon are certainly worth seeing. The club stands and whatever else there is to see, anyway.
