If anything can go wrong, it will ...

They call it "Murphy's Law" this "law": Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. If something can go wrong, it will go wrong.
We spend a lot of time on the road with a wide variety of cars, so to speak. We don't always receive comprehensive instructions about special features and simply rely on what we know or what the vehicle itself "says" with instruments, for example.
Yesterday, however, we were really unlucky. We were driving a beautiful Italian sports car, but on the way back it suddenly stopped accelerating and coasted to a standstill. The fuel gauge showed almost half full. Despite this, the car would not start. Normally, this would not have been a major problem, but the car stopped in the middle of a construction site with alternating traffic from one side or the other. This led to new cars entering the roadworks at the next green phase and, of course, getting stuck in the middle. What chaos! There was no joy. But a few hands helped to push the car into a thankfully available bay so that traffic could move again.
Now we had to wait for a rescuing angel (with petrol) and indeed, after a few liters of fuel from the canister, the engine started up again as before. And the journey could continue after untangling the construction site chaos.
Never trust a fuel gauge unless you've seen it full and empty, could be a lesson learned from experience. But we actually knew that beforehand ...
