The agony of choice 50 years ago

You have to smile a little when you read how Opel wanted to allay its customers' fears about the different versions of the Kadett in its advertising 50 years ago. There were different engines, different brake systems (drum or disk) and different gearshifts (manual or automatic).
People back then could hardly have imagined a modern price list, which even experts can hardly master without a computer because there are so many dependencies and interrelationships. Back then, however, you could buy the Opel Kadett for as little as DM 5175, which would be around EUR 2600 or CHF 2800 today, and it even came with heating and a 12-volt system. Well, those were (different) times ...
And here we show the advertisement from back then, which can of course also be found in the archive .
