BMW 1500 and you are never alone
12/27/2014
For whatever reason, the BMW 1500 was almost always shown with a couple in the official BMW pictures. There simply had to be a woman and a man in the photo. Well, there were exceptions, because the BMW 1500 was actually a family car. But even so, there are usually only two people sitting in it, or standing next to it.
An exception to the man-woman pattern usually chosen is a picture intended to show the technology. Here, two men are looking into the engine compartment. Logical.
But otherwise, as usual, mainly couples.
And not always just young people, but also some older people (men). And mostly with hats, even the ladies.
These pictures, now over fifty years old, are simply wonderful.
If you want to know more historical facts about the BMW 1500 (and its rival Peugeot 404), please refer to the monumental comparison test over 6000 km carried out by the magazine 'hobby' in 1963.
And the complete sales brochure from 1962, from which some of the photos shown here are taken, can of course be found in the Zwischengas archive.
