Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Zagato with Oscar for best supporting role?
An Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Zagato plays a magical supporting role in the new movie by Woody Allen entitled "Magic in the Moonlight". The film is set in the 1920s and in an upscale milieu, so the well-off people are motorized and not too badly. The Alfa makes an early appearance in the film when Colin Firth is driven through the south of France by Simon McBurney to unmask the supposed medium Sophie, played by Emma Stone.
The Alfa also takes center stage in the sequel, for example when it motivates Colin Firth to try to repair a breakdown, which remains unsuccessful because two cables are left over at the end of the dismantling/assembly work. And the Alfa Romeo is subsequently soaked by the downpour, or so it seems to the moviegoer.
Whether Colin Firth and Simon McBurney were really allowed to drive a real Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Zagato and how much (invisible) support they received in the process probably remains the secret of the filmmakers. In any case, the beautiful car almost steals the show from the no less attractive actors ...
