Award-winning pictures from the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique
12/11/2014
We have a winner! Daniel Reinhard, co-founder of www.zwischengas.com, was awarded first place in the "Action" category of the Credit Suisse photo competitionon the occasion of the 2014 Grand Prix de Monaco Historique .
The picture with the Tyrrell 007 from 1974, driven by Roald Goethe, shows the atmosphere of Monte Carlo in a particularly gripping way. Daniel Reinhard comments: "The photo was taken at the exit of the tunnel with a focal length of 600 mm on a Canon EOS 1Dx. A shutter speed of 1/800sec was chosen to capture the car in sharp focus due to the high speed and the somewhat bumpy road at this point. Thanks to the evening light, which was already diffuse at the time, the lights of the tunnel lighting in the background stand out strongly."
Incidentally, the picture was published as part of our report on the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique (Series F gallery) and is of course also available in high resolution in our photo archive.
Stefan Warter won the "Inside the Paddock" category (pit pictures) with an exciting perspective of the Audi pit.
And in the "Credit Suisse Historic Racing Forum" category, Jim Houlgrave's photo of racing legends taking a selfie came out on top.
Congratulations to all the winners. You can find out more about the photo competition on the Credit Suisse website.
