Not a barn find - a VW K70 on the wrong track
The route taken by a VW K70 L from the early 1970s that turned up in Thailand, more precisely in Khon Kaen, in the north-west of Bangkok, is more than puzzling.
The car is now to be fully restored in the near future. The plan is to use a Mazda engine, possibly even a Wankel engine, instead of the four-cylinder engine installed at the time. This is perhaps not so far-fetched, as there were rumors of NSU K70 prototypes being fitted with Wankel engines on a trial basis as early as the end of the 1960s ...
