The practical side of the Mini

The Mini was not the first small car, but it is probably the most famous. Four people and some luggage could be accommodated in a minimal amount of space. Thanks to its low weight and lively engines, the little car won the Monte Carlo Rally and outperformed much more powerful and sportier vehicles.
But the Mini was above all practical. It also went down unusual paths. For example, the trunk could be extended by placing the luggage on the tailgate. The license plate then simply folded down.
And if the car ever broke down, three well-built women were enough to lift it up and carry out the repair. At least that's how it was depicted in one picture. However, it is not known how long the ladies were able to hold the car ...
