Almost exactly 60 years lie between the two pictures. While Sophia Loren is on the left in the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (W 198), which was probably still new at the time, the lady on the right is sitting demurely on the flank of a completely restored 300 SL Gullwing at the Techno Classica in 2016.
The skirt length may have moved down and back up a few times in these 60 years, but the beauty of the Mercedes Coupé has always remained the same and always desirable, even if it has become almost unaffordable today.
