Future of youngtimers seems secure
04/21/2014
Zwischengas readers have little doubt that today's youngtimers will become collected and well-maintained classic cars in the future. At least that was the result of the analysis of the answers to our question last week.
Only 5% of readers thought that the sheer volume and technical problems could be an obstacle.
The rest did not see this as an insurmountable problem, on the contrary! 44% of readers even believe that the technical problems can be solved and that today's youngtimers will be as valuable for future generations as cars from the 1960s might be today.
However, half of all responding readers take a more differentiated view of the youngtimer population and see not all, but many young cars as future collector classic cars.
This optimism has also been boosted by new findings. GTÜ defect statistics presented in March , for example, document an above-average state of preservation of youngtimers even before they reach classic car age.
Now, of course, the next question arises! How will the cars of the eighties and nineties develop in value compared to their ancestors? Of course we want to know this again from our readers ....
