The Lotus and its biggest fans in Oerlikon
Yesterday evening, the historic cars and motorcycles once again thrilled the spectators at the open cycling track in Oerlikon on the occasion of the"Indianapolis" event. .
Over 5000 enthusiastic fans on two and four wheels admired the vehicles on the two banked curves.
"A picture is worth a thousand words" is a well-known saying and probably hits the nail on the head with the picture shown.
Whether driver (Peter Studer) or fan (Marylin with sister), they all clearly show their great enthusiasm for the Lotus 24, but also for the event on the open track.
Although dark clouds kept threatening rain, it stayed dry until the end. Thank goodness, because the event would have been stopped immediately if it had been wet.
The heavy cloud cover and light wind, however, allowed the temperature to drop to a pleasant level and so all groups were able to ride their three "stints" in optimal conditions.
We will publish a comprehensive report with lots of pictures as soon as possible.
