DTM legends at the Norisring

Mercedes Benz is celebrating its 25th DTM anniversary as part of today's fifth DTM race of 2013, the season highlight at the Norisring.
To mark the occasion, Mercedes is showcasing various DTM cars from past years. Mercedes-Benz has been involved in the world's most popular touring car series for a quarter of a century.
On March 3, 1988, the brand with the three-pointed star entered the race as a works team for the first time. In the 25 years of DTM/ITC, Mercedes has won 169 races, ten drivers' titles, thirteen team titles and nine one-make titles. This makes Mercedes the most successful manufacturer in the history of the DTM.
To celebrate, a Mercedes driver also took pole position. The two Canadians Robert Wickens and Bruno Spengler will start from the front row. It remains to be seen this afternoon whether Mercedes will bring the 170th victory to Stuttgart or whether the trophy will go to Munich.
Addendum (14.7.2013, 14:45): It wasn't quite enough, but second place at least looked good for Mercedes after a dramatic race. At least that's how it looked at the end of the race. However, the winning Audi driver has since been disqualified, which has of course been appealed ...
