Fighting rally stress
01/13/2013
Perhaps this idea could be relaunched among classic car enthusiasts. There are many participants in historic rallies who complain that the room prices are too high, or who hardly find the time to visit the hotel room.
Take the Mille Miglia as an example: arrival in Rome at 23:50, arrival at the guarded parking garage at 0:30, maintenance/care of the vehicle completed at 1:30, bus ride to the allocated hotel at 2:00, finally arrived at your own hotel at 2:45 after various stops, room check-in at 3:00, finally in bed at 3:30, wake-up call at 5:30, bus ride to the parking garage at 6:00, arrival at the garage at 7:00, start of the last stage to Brescia at 8:00.
As you can easily calculate, this exemplary participant has barely two hours of sleep left. With their own tent in the parking garage, they would have enjoyed a good five hours' sleep and saved around 300 euros!
P.S. We published a comprehensive report on the Morris Minor some time ago.
