With momentum into the classic car year 2013
01/01/2013
The turn of the year is typically the time to look more or less far into the future. So what will the classic car year 2013 bring us?
We will be able to experience a reunion with legendary hill climbs, e.g. at Klausen, Grossglockner and Kerenzerberg. Many anniversaries will be celebrated, for example the Porsche 901/911 will be 50 years old. The Mercedes-Benz 230 SL (R113, Pagoda) will also be celebrating its 50th birthday and Aston Martin will be able to look back on 100 years of history. These are just three examples from an almost indescribably extensive series of anniversaries.
In 2013, thousands of automobiles will once again be designated as classic cars, and even the Peugeot 205 will be 30 years old by then.
In 2013, interest groups and representatives will once again have to fight the increasing regulatory frenzy surrounding classic cars, but there is still a threat of tougher restrictions and higher costs in many areas.
And in 2013, we will once again see the birth (or rebirth) of new classic car magazines and platforms, as there are still many stories to tell and illustrate and interest in the automobile as a cultural asset continues to grow.
And what about us? What will Zwischengas be tackling over the next twelve months? Well, we will continue on our tried and tested path, continue to write about exciting vehicles from the last 127 years of the automobile, regardless of whether they were mainstream or niche products, and we also have a few new things planned, but we will report on these at a later date.
For now, we wish all our readers a lively start to the new year!
