On site at the Ennstal Classic 2011 - practicing on the Stoderzinken
07/14/2011
The dog doesn't tremble! As long as the dog isn't shivering, there's no need to worry about storms or changes in the weather, the proud owner told us at the "Rosemi Alm" mountain restaurant on the Stoderzinken.
And it stayed dry and scorching hot all day long. Good weather for the Ennstal-Classic participants who wanted to hone their driving and timing techniques . And they took full advantage of it.
Dozens of riders covered the last stretch from the hairpin bend to the finish on the Stoderzinken on the day before the start of the Ennstal Classic 2011.
Small technical problems were already apparent here and there, so the evening was spent busily tinkering and repairing.
And of course the usual vehicle inspection took place, where knowledgeable experts checked the roadworthiness of the participating vehicles. The inspected vehicles were given a good certificate, and today the field can tackle the drive up the Stoderzinken in almost nominal size.
And this test will already separate the wheat from the chaff, as only 10:30 minutes for the faster vehicles and 14:00 minutes for older vehicles are available to tackle the mountain route, which corresponds to an average speed of 48.5 km/h for the winding and steep route.
