Alonso in the 1951 Ferrari 375 Grand Prix winning car

This year's winner of the British Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso, was able to complete two laps in the winning car from 1951 before the start of the F1 race.
On July 14, 1951, almost exactly 60 years ago, Frojlan Gonzalez won the then British Grand Prix in the Ferrari 375. The sensational twelve-cylinder car from Maranello on display is the ex-Ascari car and belonged to the collection of the Swiss Obrist for many years before it changed hands to its current owner.
How could it be otherwise, the car is now owned by Bernie Ecclestone. Fernando Alonso wanted to do a few practice laps on Saturday evening so as not to make a fool of himself on Sunday.
The practice session took place in the only free space in the paddock. He could only drive a circle with the wheels fully turned, which not only served as a driving school for the former world champion, but was also great fun. Afterwards, he felt ready for the big laps.
