Main body of the engine malfunctions from 1934

In 1934, the Automobil-Revue printed a "Family tree of engine faults".
The list of problems and possible causes appears quite clear. And there is even room for an empty tank among the 15 causes! And around 3/4 of the possible causes of an engine malfunction could probably have been solved on the road, so to speak, provided that talent, knowledge and the will to improvise were available.
Those were the days, older ADAC "angels" or TCS roadside assistants will remember with nostalgia earlier missions, when repairing and improvising was the order of the day in most cases instead of towing .
