Special prices at Automobile Monteverdi
04/05/2011
On August 26 , 1965, an advertisement from the Monteverdi company in Basel appeared in Automobil Revue with the title "Unique - grab it now - special prices".
On offer were two Ferrari 330 GTs, an unspecified 1959/60 Ferrari convertible - I wonder if it was a Ferrari 250 Spider California ? - a BMW 503 Coupé, two Lancia Flaminia Touring Coupés and a Lancia Flamina Berlina with 6 seats.
All vehicles were described as accident-free and in "1A" condition and all were comparatively cheap for the time, especially the "older" vehicles such as the BMW 503, which was already 8 years old, or the Lancias, which were 4-5 years old. All of these vehicles have since made it into the classic Olympus and would be worth considerably more today, or even several times more. Back then, however, they were simply used cars, no more and no less.
Who knows, maybe one or two of these cars passed through the hands of one of our readers back then or later.
