When cars were still allowed to be colored

It was May 1981 when Renault presented the R4 "Jogging". It was a contemporary and economical vehicle, with 34 hp and a fuel consumption of 5.4 liters at 90 km/h. The special model was limited to 5000 units and was only to be sold in France and the Benelux countries.
While the car was white on the outside with a few eye-catching color accents, the interior was really colorful.
The Renault press department described their new arrival in the most beautiful tones:
"Through its design, the Renault 4 Jogging gives the impression that it is suitable for both relaxed and dynamic journeys. The color harmony is clear and cheerful.
White dominates the exterior, combined with the blue of the sunroof, bumpers and side guards. Inside, the blue seats and door panels with rainbow stripes emphasize their distinctiveness by contrasting with the white accents of the seat frames, rear-view mirror and dashboard.
It is the car for fresh air fans, with a sunroof and plenty of space.
The stylish rims and a jogging bag in the same color as the seats also match the youthful and sporty style.
The mechanics are the same as a Renault 4 GTL; it's a Renault 4 GTL in a tracksuit."
Yes, that was the time when you could buy a denim Beetle and interiors could still be really colorful. It was nice ...
